The article is dedicated to the investigation of paleoenvironmental changes and caused them reasons on the complex microbiota analysis. In Aymaki section – the one of the most complete Cretaceous sections of the East Caucasus region, the Aptian-Albian succession containing organic rich sediments was studied. These deposits correspond to global events, including Early Aptian Selli event (ОАЕ1а), several episodes of Late Aptian – Early Albian Jacob, Paguier event (OAE1b), Late Albian Toolebuc (OAE1c) and Breistroffer (OAE1d) events. Quantitative distribution of foraminiferas in the Apt-Albian sediments of the Aymaki section indicates to significant environmental changes in the East Caucasus basin.
